Greetings...Will be headed to New Orleans with my family in August. I am looking at a couple of VRBO options. The first is in the Garden District and 2nd is in Broadmoor? I will have a car. Which one would be safer and closer to activities?

Its been 30yrs since I have been to N.O. I Know its dangerous and gross from reading OT but would like to know some good food and tourist places to go. As I mentioned, I do have a car but would probably like to walk as much as possible. We do not party so not planning on being out late. Thanks for your help!

Stay in historic Downtown Gretna would be fun. There’s plenty to do on the bestbank.

....draft up your obituary. Your funeral director will need it. Seriously.

Get a hotel in the French Quarter. Go pick out a few places to eat and walk around the Riverwalk/Jax brewery area. Make plans to then eat at all the famous spots like Court of 2 sisters, Brennnans, etc. Get back in the hotel by 8pm and restrict your late night activities to the hotel bar past then.

If you do these things every day/night, even then I predict you’ll leave saying “Holy fricking shite!” And then never come back.

But have fun. Everyone deserves a chance to come to New Orleans. Then leave with a sour taste in your mouth. The NO from 30 years ago left town about 20 years ago.

Good luck and don’t die.

Don’t park on the street unless you want your window broken. Only use a garage.

Get affairs in order. Update will. Make sure life insurance is paid up to date. Get a medical bracket that has blood type and allergies.

Already bad advice. LOL

And OP, August is probably the worst time to visit Nola. I would consider another month if at all possible when it’s a little cooler and more outdoor stuff is happening
