Best way is to run the VIN at a Ford dealer.
Also, good call on the sunroof.
They were problematic regarding track issues and about 4K to repair.
OP should make sure it opens and closes smoothly. If it does and he buys the truck, order the special track lube from Amazon ASAP.

Car forums and middle aged men are...odd. that aside, some good advice here for you. I am debating mcoing on from my 2010 f150 with 154k and the ford techs I know have mentioned many of these points

That 3.5L eco boost is a hard pass. You need an 8 cylinder.

If you’re looking at an older truck, look for the V8 in the 16-18 year.
Normally wouldn't consider a Ford Turbo anything but the owner was a family friend and would be getting it at a steal. It's completely bone stock and obviously wasn't driven much considering the milage and year.

A better and more useful vehicle.

That’s a 8-9’year old truck, and a Ford at that. You should have a professional look at the engine, transmission, ball joints, front and rear axles, and make sure all 17 outstanding recalls were completed.
Have someone check the vin for accidents or major component repairs.
The Ford cam phasers have issues if you aren’t on top of the oil changes. They are sensitive to any disruption in oil pressure like those lifters from GM. Make sure those oil changes were done. At that age, you should expect to check the oil level every 2500 miles and replace oil and filter every 5,000 to reduce the chance of those parts failing. Never let it run more than a half quart low and keep an eye on oil pressure.
Have someone put it on the lift and make sure it’s not leaking from the front crank pulley, the rear main seal, the valve cover gasket. All the usual places for F-150s.
Edit: just saw that you know the vehicle and it’s a family friend that is selling it. I’d still try to pull the maintenance history in a way that doesn’t offend them. Maybe you can ask a buddy at a Ford dealer or pay for a Vin check. But if you think they were good on maintenance, you may have found a great ride. Good luck!

Re phasers, wife’s 18 expi (purchased used in ‘20) developed rattle within factory warranty period, ford “fixed” it under warranty, rattle came back 6 months or so. Piece of shite but if the price is right I’d buy it. They will run like a scalded dog. I run 10w40 oil in ours and that has helped with the rattle.
Oh and I change the oil around 5000 miles which is 35-40-ish percent on the oil life thing.

This sounds promising then.
That’s the way to get a used truck.

This emblem. If you see it, make sure you have a ride you call when it breaks down.

Raptors are Bro trucks meant for showing off. They serve no purpose

Border Partol disagrees with you. They use them and they're pretty awesome navigating ranch and lease roads. I know a fraction of them ever get used for that but when used for their intended purpose they're pretty functional.

Don’t forget to kick the tires.
That’s what my Parrain would do, and I bet he never once got sold a clunker

Are you implying they don’t use them or that people who get them are posers?
Btw I don’t have a raptor. I drive a Lexus suv.

Oh, I know Border Patrol & Nevada National Security Site Baws use them, as they’re quite capable, but the other 99.9%….

Do not trust this guy because he is unaware that Gen2 Raptors only come with the ecoboost V6.
I did not know that as I wasn’t looking for a Raptor but I DO know the V8 with the 6 spd transmission from 16-18 was a good combination and the earlier ecoboost had issues.

Theoretically, shocks are supposed to be rebuilt at every 50k on Raptors.
