I know other people going through this. Most have friends with contractors licenses that are hooking them up.

In your other posts says you work for Cretin. Why don't they write up a contract for you? If it's flood work I don't think you even have to pull permits.

My avi was on TV. If you can top his story

Because Chase will 1099 them for the money which will result in the contractor having to pay about $12k in taxes.

Chase says they will not release my other insurance money without a contractor's license being provided. They say it's a state law, it isn't.
I'm in the same boat but with a different bank.

I had a post about this after Isaac and my similar issues with Wells Fargo. The post got removed after 3 pages of replies in just a couple of minutes.
I have never forgiven whatever admin whacked my thread. Who knows others may have been made aware of these shenanigans and been able to prepare before the same thing happened to them.
Good luck to you because it's a shitty situation being created by shitty companies.

If you have a mortgage with the bank, they are just trying to protect their arse by making sure that repairs are being done.
Deal with local small banks and one doesn't have these problems.
One can go in and just talk to them with a plan.

You sure that's not in the fine print of your mortgage?

I have the same thing also. I'm just lucky, if you want to call it that, that my insurance claim is close enough for me to just payoff current mortgage and get a construction loan for repairs and refinance when I'm complete. Good luck with the fight.

Do something on camera tonight that way we know it's you. Pull out one ball for like 3 seconds. It's the only way anyone will believe you.

The reporter has been back and forth with them over the last hour and keeping me updated. Chase called her and said the state licensing board said it is law, well low and behold my reporter had a letter from them today stating that I can contract myself. She emailed it to the Chase rep who then realized they were wrong and suddenly said I will get back to you.

You should have gone on Judge Judy instead to handle this dispute.
Posted on 10/25/16 at 4:36 pm to Franktowntiger7
Is it going to be live or prerecorded? Say something like "Chase forgot to check my knuckles" so we know it's really you

Heath Allen stopped me today for my opionin on Slidell panhandlers. I should have got out my OB Koozie and talked about how Slidell is the crown jewel of St Tammany Parish. Maybe next time.

I don't think banks send 1099s. Even if they did. If they took the money as income and paid it out to you, they would make no money. You only pay taxes on profits not income. The only thing it would slightly affect is the insurance rates are based on homes done, but if there was no permit, it wouldn't matter either.
