It also looks like there are about 3 times as many employees in that video compared to a current McDonald's.

Everyone was in better shape vs today. A lot better. 2. People dressing very decent in public. 3. A lot of smiling and people taking their time. 4. Workers don't look rushed, frustrated, or stressed eventhough they are busy. 5. More social interactions between workers and customers and people eating (no one glued to iPhone). 6. paying with good old cash. 7. simplicity of the menu. 8. welcoming eating environment. 9. only bad thing was a smoker but that's a small price to pay.

Should have seen MacDonalds in the 60’s.No frozen fries, they had big sacks of potato’s behind the counter, dump them in a peeler machine and then a device that cut the whole potato into French fries.
Friend of mine did French fries,he always had little burn spots on his arms, few on his face from the hot grease splatters.
No drive through.Hamburgers,15c,fries 15 c,cold drink 15c.Hamburgers were nasty,I got fish sandwiches ,they were 20c.

That meme is so spot on.

The other day, the cashier at a Popeye's in San Antonio never stopped texting while taking our orders, and it literally took 15 minutes for them to get the food to us.

Several potential customers simply walked out. We would have but no one was ahead of us in line, so we had no idea what was in store for us.

Kids today are rude, self-absorbed, entitled, and dumb. I weep for this country's future.

I worked at McDonalds as my first job in 1987. A few things from memory:

Sandwiches were prepared and kept in a warmer behind the front counter. I think they could be kept in the “bin” for 10 minutes. This meant people got their food faster (mostly).

I think our goals (which we mostly met) were taking the order within 40 seconds and getting them their food within 130 seconds. This went for drive thru and counter.

Every customer was to be greeted with a “welcome to McDonalds” as they entered the store.

The McDLT was a pain on the arse.

I liked working breakfast shift, making pancakes was fun.

Apple pies were deep fried and came out hot as lava. Needed to cool for an hour before distribution.

The ice cream machine was never broken. It was cleaned and serviced daily.

People scoff when I tell them the Global Latrine is coming. Videos like this are just proof that the Global Latrine is not just coming, its on our doorstep.

The % of our 'civilization' that is a toilet is skyrocketing. And there are NO signs of it getting any better.

May God have mercy on our offspring.

Where I grew up there was a McDonalds kind of next door to a Burger King. We would ride our bikes up to them as kids.
One day we were goofing off with the Burger King crown on our head and the manager said he would give us free fries if we walked inside the McDonalds with the crowns on.
Goofy arse memory that I haven’t thought of in 20 plus years

Had to be cooked to order. Putting it in warming bin meant cool side got hot. Leaving it out meant hot side got cool.
