Trucks today are cheaper factoring in inflation than they were in the mid 90s, and they're far batter quality
My 04's sticker price was ~$42k, and that was a completely decked out 2500hd. In today's dollars, that's ~$57k. Just priced it out similarly equipped on the Chevy website, and it came to $56k. You can say that they now come with all kinds of fancy, expensive gadgets, but I added a $300 backup camera and $400 touchscreen radio. They don't have really any other special options.

Other than small stuff I knew was gonna go wrong over 15 years, I've had zero major problems. My brand new F150 has been in the shop more in six months than my truck has its entire life

Even if I don't dispute your numbers, you're ignoring a lot of development that's happened in those 15 years and a lot of additional features just because you don't care for them.

Nothing. Vehicles are exactly the same and the evil companies are just charging more for fun.

They aren't charging more if you calculate the inflation. The same value of money gets you the same truck

Go multi-billion dollar international corporation! frick those American workers attempting to provide for their families!

GM is a business, and there's no room for charity! People have to be held accountable for their own financial decisions in a free market, and that's why taxpayers had to bail out GM to the tune of a $10 billion loss.

But seriously, any successful business obviously has to keep salaries under control. If you don't believe me you can ask the CEO how she survives on only $22 million per year.

How much does it take to hire a CEO of a multinational corp like GM?

How much does it take to hire an unskilled assembly line worker?

Which ones are actually overpaid?

Probably the ones that can walk away with a multimillion dollar golden parachute when their contracts are terminated, regardless of performance.

Coming from someone who has family that belong to UAW, they are some spoiled bitches. Hourly and overtime rates that make plant baws jealous and benefits out the wazoo. Yet they poormouth like they are digging ditches.

Watch the documentary on Netflix called "American Factory". These people were laid off for years in Ohio from a closed GM Plant. A Chinese company buys the old plant and hires a bunch of them and they are still the most arrogant and entitled bitches of all time. The former Union GM workers were terrible and ungrateful. If I had been unemployed for that long I would have been a lot more grateful and humble.

yes, although there has been some reform, US CEO compensation packages have been ooc for decades when compared to the rest of the first world, especially when performance is compared to compensation

Roughly 70% of her annual comp was in options. Therefore, the performance of the company is a big factor here.

Important question in all of this: Does it impact the initial delivery of the new Corvette?

It is actually just like that except the fictional movie came out first.

It’s always interesting to see people who enjoy the results of union action (weekends, lunch breaks, paid vacation/sick leave) bash them.

Union strength had dropped precipitously in the last 30 years, which correlated to stagnating wages. Coincidence?
