Given the epidemic of vehicle theft in N.O. why no 'bait cars ?

Apparently 'stop and frisk' can no longer be utilized to curb gun violence but WHY does NOPD not consider a 'bait car' team ?

there’s a bill in the state house right now to change the sentence for simply burglary within 1 square mile of a public event (festival, sports, music, etc) to jail time 1-12 years. The problem isn’t enforcement it’s the consequences

Because even when they do catch the car thieves, they don't charge them. It would end up being a waste of money to catch them just for nothing to happen.

This is their form of reparations. You know the race if most victims and the race of most perps. So guess what, they not worried about it.

I'm sure bait cars fall under "mean stuff" and are no longer pursued.

I'm guessing the only reason they took him in at all was the fact his car was a mess and the guy was (probably) high or drunk and posed an immediate threat to life nearby. He destroyed my car on a narrow side street.
