Dogs aren't that foolish. Not in the real world. Maybe in cartoons. Or not.

I'm just going by what he said.

And yes, it seems as though the dogs were messing with the gator.

All the self-righteous people in here acting like her uncle is a fool, y'all seem like very safe, helicopter-type people. Good for y'all. Enjoy that.

He'll probably get fined for feeding the gators. That's against the law.

Nobody's acting like anything. He's a fool.

If you don't want criticism, keep stories of ignorant behavior to yourself.

I work with a coonass here in central Arkansas. Even having lived here since Katrina... he cannot turn his back on any body of water cause of the gatas! That shite is ingrained in his DNA.

I get that, and as was already stated, he knows he fricked up.

But are we really going to act like letting his dogs run around in a place that's gated, where gators are hardly ever seen, is some kind of extremely negligent act, and that he is an idiot?

That's fair. I don't know. I don't live in a place where gators are really present, so it's kind of hard for me to have the perspective I reckon.

You are my bama baw. Among my favorite gumps. If you see any body of freshwater, automatically assume gators. Seriously. Sorry about Millie. But in 2018 a lady in Florida tried to rescue her own version of Millie and was killed by the gator instead. Leave the damn things alone.

Yes.

I'm really not trying to be too much of a dickhead here, but this is 100% his fault. I know he feels bad, but the dog is gone because of him.

It's Florida. Anyone who has spent any time in the South should know that gators are in fresh water, whether you see them or not. Even then, why were the dogs running around off leash? Was this a dog park or something? I didn't see that if so. That would be somewhat understandable, but I suspect that isn't the case.

But you said you were sitting there with the remaining dog, so you're with him. Maybe ask what happened?

That's a really small gator to be able to kill a woman. Lotta feet too. Usually they only have four.
