FWIW, there is a trend now for FA's to announce "the pilot has suspended service due to expected turbulence..." and then there will be the smoothest flight of all time. I talked to a friend who has been a FA for 25 years and she confirmed that this is an excuse they use on short flights to avoid doing service. Lazy fricks.

The dumbest version of this is when I had a 4 hour red eye flight and I thought I’d be able to sleep. Wrong. Was woken up constantly by the flight attendants going up and down the aisle to give people snacks and drinks. Do you really need to be eating at 3am?
