I have a 2020 f-150. They make something you can plug into the computer port under the steering wheel. It remembers the last setting of the start/stop. So plug it in and turn off start/stop and never worry about it again. Cost $60.

I just bought a new F150 STX V8 4WD. Thats base model for you ballers at home.

I got it for $47K.

I love it so far. It ain't got to fancy bells and whistles but I also will not pay $60K for a truck.

I did this same thing and love mine so far, I work from home so I don't need a $85,000 truck sitting in the driveway. Mine has 14K miles on it after 20 months

if you have the 5.0 with the 6 speed, keep it. That is the last good powertrain ford has put out in years. The new 10 speed scares me, i sold one with 72,000 miles becuase it was starting to have problems.

All of the new modern trucks have their issues. After owning both the ford 5.0 and gm 5.3, i'd go with the ford if you had to buy a new one.

I've changed this setting on probably 10 Fords at a total cost to me of about $50 (not including the cheap laptop I already had.) You can fiddle with a bunch of settings, like turning off the double honk if you close the doors (like when getting the mail) but you still have your key on you. F that double horn honk to hades and back.

I got paid plenty in beer in return.

I can’t even count how many Chevys I had but I bought a F150 in ‘21 new and I haven’t found anything to bitch about except maybe gas mileage. Way more comfortable seating, WAY more powerful engine (Coyote V8) vs pathetic limp wristed 5.3 (pure garbage on my ‘17 that I traded). That on/off thingy doesn’t engage in Sport Mode and there’s a button you can mash to make it stop. The screen is like a huge iPad, and that is nice with maps that are carplaying off your phone wirelessly. (GM probably has wireless CarPlay now, but didn’t on my older truck). The new Chevy/GMC’s have lifter issues. My dad had to have all his replaced.

Also, did I mention that the F150 has way more power? The auto brake hold ( keeps the brake applied even when you take your foot off the pedal until you gas it) has almost a line lock quality that I love. Especially in BR traffic. The light turns green and it’s pure launch.

The bed has more tie downs, etc and also it’s the most comfortable truck I’ve ever owned.

The only Chevy I’ve seen that looks remotely good is the Trail Boss package. Everything else is a huge arse truck with shopping buggy wheels on it. Looks weird to me. Ford came bone stock with 20’s and 35” BFGs blacked out rims etc.

I may never own another gm product again. Maybe.

I just traded in my 2018 F-150 Platinum with a 5.0 after the transmission went out at 80k and then timing chain and transfer case @ 95k

I bought a GMC Sierra Elevation with the 3.0L Duramax. I can tow my 19' Triton Bass boat and still get 19mpg and it pulls it way better than the Ford did.

Around town I average 24-27 mpg and on the highway I have seen over 35 mpg.

My ford would get 10-12 towing my boat, 14-15 around town and 18mpg on a road trip. I am not sure why ford or ram would ever do away with their half ton diesel options because i think this is the best power plants for these trucks.

I routinely got 40mpg doing 94 mph driving to DFW in a 2022 F-250 6.7. In town, 15mpg.

My problem with Chevy anything is the steering; they have always driven like a couch to me. It's just a near instant, "oh this sucks," anytime I'm driving one.

I will say my Platinum was much more comfortable all the way around and I do miss it because of that. I do not miss all of the problems I had with the drive train though.

I thought my Ford was going to be the last one I purchase for a while because I really just hate paying notes on vehicles.

I'll never purchase a Chevy again. Twice, trucks that I purchased new, the paint peeled off in big splotches.

I got a 2022 F150 with a Coyote 5.0 V8 engine. I thought about trading, but the prices are still BS for what you get. At this point, I might as well upgrade to a luxury vehicle if I am going to be paying 60k plus for a vehicle.

The Ram diesel is a modified V-6 that they converted to a truck engine.

The 3.0 baby Duramax is an inline six engine built specifically for the Silverado platform. More torque and smoother due to it's design ( think mini version of a semi's diesel)

I'm on my second Silverado High Country and for anyone who regularly tows less than 7,000 lbs it's a no brainer. Love the engine, love the truck. Tows my 20 ft Bass at like it's not there

Does the 3.0 have the transmission issues as the rest of the gmc/Chevy trucks.

Looking at trading in my 2016 f150 for a newer truck. Been kicking around the idea of trading for another F150 or a Z71…I’m familiar with fords, less familiar with Chevy. What do yall think? Or do you have a different recommendation that I should consider?

Why? When it's time, I'll just drop a new engine in mine and go. Prices are too damn high.

Chevy seems like the better deal right now. You can get a 2025 Chevy for less than a comparable 2024 F150.

I really like the F150 XLT with Black appearance package but they need to come down on their prices more for me to buy.
