Getting a nap in at work

Anyone enjoy a good nap at work? I will walk in the parking lot after lunch, and old guys will be killing it in their car. I am kind of jelly.

Government insists that I rest for half of the time I’m at work

I did. But I really do see old guys knocking one out every day after lunch.

I actually have a cot in my office. There are times I’ll close my blinds and take a 20 minute power nap. Working at the same place for over 20 years comes with a few perks.

Studies show you’re more productive in the afternoon if you have a power nap at lunch

Worked 5 am to 2 pm then took night classes 3 pm to 9 pm for 3 years straight in college. Took naps in my truck on the regular during lunch.

I have a couch in my office. Catch a nap once a month or so.
Put the couch in there because sometimes I end up staying overnight with emergency jobs and not enough time to make the 1.5+ hour round trip home and back.

I do occasionally. I'll drink coffee before I take a 30 min nap, that way when I wake up the coffee has kicked in.

Yes, I eat during pre-lunch, close office door for lunch for a nap, then do my interweb searching on post lunch.

I have enjoyed a nap in my car before. But not at work where my co-workers would see me napping.
ETA I’ll go park elsewhere in the shade, parking deck, etc.

I go out to my truck, and nap most days. Some days I don't actually fall asleep, but it is still refreshing. I get an hour for lunch, and bring my lunch. It takes me 15 minutes to eat, so why not.

When we are activated for emergencies we work for 14 hour shifts. If the roads are closed or impassable or we just don't want to waste the time commuting we're offered cots and darkened rooms to sleep in shifts.
I never take them up on it. But it's there if I like.
Otherwise if I nap on the clock I'll be napping at home on my own time for free after I'm politely dismissed.

About an hour after lunch I'll sometimes close the door to my office and get some z's.

I dis this for a couple of months after our youngest was born. She and her sister were terrible sleepers for a while so lunch time was nap time for a while.

I usually do about 1-2 times per week for about 30 minutes in office during lunch break. I feel much more productive those afternoons.
