Hampton

Checking in from the Hampton in West Monroe. Ordinary we would just stop along the way after checkout and find something. Saw this thread and decided to check out their breakfast.
It was….”ok”. Nothing special but the coffee and the muffins were good.

Yep. They leech on society until they force a rule or change to that society.

I remember when hotels had restaurants except for cheap ones located next to a Denys or similar.

I thought they charged a fee at least in some hotels for non-guests.

One way to solve this is to actually have enough employees around but the big chain hotels try not to have those.

Bruh, I do not even partake when I am staying at the hotel.

Knew there would be that same attitude before I even watched it.

Most of the hotel breakfast are either honey buns and a waffle maker, or the ones that serve "hot" food are horrible.

We always stay at Hampton Inns. They always have a good breakfast.

This isn't a new phenomenon, people have been doing this forever. Back in high school, me and my friends had a few hotels we would frequent for this during the summer, until they figured us out and kick us out.

all I care about is the coffee. The leeches can have the dry eggs and mystery sausage

I've done this once in my entire life. The hotel my brother and I were staying at, the breakfast wasn't ready yet so we walked next door and ate theirs.

After one particularly bad bout of food poisoning I no longer eat "hot" food from the hotel breakfast. Sealed meals only.

Imo, without knowing your specific circumstances or industry- it sounds like you’re doing it wrong .

I traveled a ton around the US in my former corporate w*rk life.. one of the main advantages of being on the road- as opposed to working from home and/office which i also did a ton- was being able to create my own schedule and control my own calendar.. in my case, i did the math and figured out that ive stayed almost three years of my life in hotel rooms, and if you’re gonna sacrifice like that and work your arse off (which i did)- might as well dictate to the customers when *you* are available to meet and let them work around that , so that your road life doesnt become any more hellish than it needs to be .. .. at least that’s my philosophy .

That was not the case available to me. That would have been nice and I have envy, but I would not trade my early professional experience for anything (actually missing and thinking about returning). All of the places I traveled were close to areas that were not desirable places to visit but did have a following by people who wear tin foil hats.
