After all the threads we have had on this, it apparently is hard to understand.

Hilarious the downvotes this guy gets when he is probably the most knowledgeable person on this board in regards to this type of stuff.

you are not 15% bodyfat but you arent obese but you are overweight

you also are carrying around an extreme amount of muscle mass, so unless you are just a genetic freak...well you either juiced or an extreme outlier.

but lifting alone like you obviously do makes you an outlier and 99% of others at your height and weight are obese.

If you’ve lifted a weight over 5 pounds in your life you’re going to be overweight on BMI

I’ve been down at 170 at my height and I’m downright gaunt. But that’s barely normal weight.

But if I got Cancer and weights 130 pounds of still be normal weight.

i dont worry about it. people dont usually like to hear the truth. im secure enough to admit i am about 15lbs overweight at the moment and what i consider fat. most would laugh at that statement that saw me in real life, but i tend to have the same standards as people in the past where 15% bodyfat is considered normal.

He's saying his bad heart valve alone caused his heart issues alone.

That is exactly what caused it, specially what they call a “cleft mitral valve”.

quote:

Him reaching 3 bills for 10 years had nothing to do with it...

I’ve never got close to 3 bills. The heaviest I’ve ever been was in the months leading up to my open heart surgery to replace my bad valve. I was by that time entering the final stage of CHF which caused me to retain fluid due to my organs not working properly. The sicker I got, the more fluid I retained, thus the heavier I got. There was nothing I could do to drop the weight that I was putting on because my organs were failing.

When I went into the hospital they put me on Furosemide, which I still still to this day. Between the Furosemide and the fact I now had a functioning mitral valve, I rapidly dropped 70 lbs of fluid. When I went into the hospital on Nov. 7, 2016 I weighed 255 lbs. when I was released from the hospital Dec. 8 2016 I weighed 185 lbs., which is about where I had been since I was in my late 30s.

"ok newsflash for everyone....less than 10% of the US population does any form of resistance training....if you lift extremely hard you are in the 95 percentile or so with the pro athletes etc. If you are considered overweight but can see your abs or verified under 15% BF....you are an outlier for BMI

BMI works for the other 95% of people"

Will revise my previous statement to read that BMI is a joke for myself and the remaining 5%. Honestly assumed BMI disregarded muscle mass entirely and was unfairly skewed against height. Appreciate the additional breakdown.
