Marching band members at a Georgia high school are facing disciplinary action after spelling out the word “c–n” instead of their team’s name during a halftime show at a Friday football game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

quote:

Musicians from Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County inexplicably arranged themselves during its game against Lakeside High School to spell out the racist term using instrument covers that are typically assembled to display the word Broncos in reference to the school’s mascot, according to a letter to students and parents from the school’s principal.

quote:

“Haven’t heard it in years, it’s to belittle black people, it’s an insult,” Myers said of the term. “It’s just like saying the N-word, but this is worse because it’s coming from students at a public high school.”

quote:

“I don’t even know if this is a black-white issue because my understanding is a couple of them were not white, so they just did something that was wrong and they need to be held accountable,” she said. “I want them expelled.

why the hell are stories like this published, anyways? People have been doing dumb shite like this forever. Giving them publicity does not help anything.

Take away their marching privileges and have them go volunteer to clean up 20 hours in a black neighborhood. the end.

The funny thing is that the O’s are blurred or blacked out in many news reports.

This is ridiculous. Everything doesn't have to be a death sentence penalty. They made a mistake. Community service.

The current Progressive thought process in a nutshell.

I don't know why it's offensive and it can't be racist because the kids were mixed races but I am offended for reasons I can't articulate so their lives should be ruined.

I also like raccoons. Very smart and they can be pretty sociable. Knew someone who had a baby one as a pet and it was great

The most insidious acts of racism are the ones that aren’t racist. Those are the hardest to root out.

Idk why I thought of that commercial where the blind woman let the raccoon inside instead of her cat because she couldn't see
