He was not DOA as has been alleged. The judge is partially using this as a basis to allow the defense to examine heart tissue collected from George Floyd in his appeal's process.

Can't wait for people to start the gymnastics of asking "yeah but how alive was he?"

I remember, decades ago, as a young man, watching the movie, Count of Monte Cristo.
I was thinking how fortunate we are to have a Justice system where false imprisonment can't happen.
The "Balance Scales of Justice" and such.

Nothing changes except the Characters.

The only way Derek Chauvin could be guilty of murdering George Floyd is if he had force fed him massive amounts of fentanyl.

We've been locking up innocent people for years, rarely cops though, that's a new wrinkle. Usually it's the cops pinning it on the wrong guy. Thin Blue Line guy was arrested in 1976 and didn't get released until the movie came out 13 years later

I think Floyd was a complete POS and Chauvin should not be in prison, but:

quote:

George Floyd was alive when he arrived at the hospital...

Plenty of people who were shot/stabbed/attacked etc arrive at the hospital alive and die later, and the person who attacked them is responsible for their death.

I see the Defense's argument in this without reading further though. It further muddies the causal connection between Chauvin's actions and Floyds death, which were already tenuous

I love that the government is fighting his efforts to see the evidence.

Why would you be concerned that a defendant be able to review the evidence that was used to convict him? Unless...
