Have you ever heard the saying "tough shite"?

So the history and culture is about idolizing criminals and dope fiends? Good to know.

Based on what? That shite head was dead whether he came in contact with Chauvin or not. So, exactly what or why should Chauvin be in prison?

Ya hate to see it

So I looked at Google maps to see where this mural was. It was no surprise to me that it was in the 3rd ward. However for people that are upset that "history" was being destroyed; this is what the building looked like in January 2020:
It was an abandoned laundromat that's been vacant for over a decade. The uproar makes it sound like this was a brick wall in a public park that was torn down to make room for a gentrified yoga spa.

Oh the irony. The ones crying about this, are the ones who want history erased and statues removed all while begging for reparations. Floyd was a shitty human being and does not need to be on any pedestal. Not saying he deserved to die, but he did not do himself any favors in the game of life. Cry harder Naomi!!

I doubt he's breathing in all that rubble.

Welcome to 2025 journalism - full of idiots. People were taking photos when it was first commissioned, I would be surprised how often people went to see it and pay homage to George. That area of town is sketch AF.
But you nailed it. "The uproar makes it sound like this was a brick wall in a public park that was torn down to make room for a gentrified yoga spa"

Finally, a checkmark in the WIN column.

are the ones getting their picture in front of a mural depicting a felonious drug addict, while an innocent man is in jail for his murder, the same ones that are arguing that weddings at Nottoway are disrespectful?
Just checking.
Just checking.

So now how will people know that its a neighborhood to stay out of?

I don't think anyone will forget to stay away from the Third Ward

How does one become "a historian of the neighborhood"? Is there a certification process? A test to pass? So many years lived in a neighborhood? Or can anyone just appoint themselves "a historian of the neighborhood"?
As a kid I bet I ate 700 PB&J sandwiches? Does that qualify me as a historian of PB&J sandwiches?

The Wards across the city do have historical preservation societies and they make investments in property and do tours,
not that this wall deserved any protection, but yes, there are neighborhood historians in Houston
not necessarily a full time job
