Similar thing happened to me last week.
I was pulling in to get diesel and a car pulled in right in front of me to the only pump with gas and diesel, leaving 6 or 8 other gas-only pumps available. I sat there fuming mad the entire time he pumped his gas.

Years ago, I would have. People so crazy now (especially the types that would do what the OP described) I just let it go.
Wouldn't want to pop the lid off a crazy a-hole, have it escalate to a point of no return and then I'd have to shoot them. Especially at a time like this, when people's nerves are a bit frayed.

I had a woman try to cut me off at the pump Thursday night. I pulled my truck up to her accord and told her I would push her fricking car out the way if she didn’t move. She moved.

Most gas stations I go to have maybe 2-5 parking spots and it would be way more hassle weaving around to get into one of those spots, if there are even any available.
I think he’s saying he should of walked in to buy his snacks while his gas was pumping bc he saw him pay at the pump. People need to be more efficient when it’s necessary.

They have a right to that gas pump until they are finished. Earlier this morning I stopped at a gas station and had to wait in line. Finally got up there, filled up, and had to take a shite. So I went inside the gas station bathroom and did my business. The line stacked up behind me was no concern to me.
