There are plenty of other legitimate things to let bother you than someone taking up a gas pump to walk in when there are 5, 10, 15+ others available.
When the pump is actually needed and they still walk off...there should be law against that.

If I understand OP correctly, they are supposed to pull away from the pump and then go park in a regular parking spot after filling up? Completely ridic. Most gas stations I go to have maybe 2-5 parking spots and it would be way more hassle weaving around to get into one of those spots, if there are even any available.

I get it if the gas station is full or close to full and you don't wanna be a dick, but if I pull up to a station with 8-10 pumps and there is one car there, I might just park at a pump for convenience's sake. Easier to drive off.
I'm gonna be in the gas station MAX 5 minutes. If I'm in there for longer than 5 minutes I've gone wrong somewhere.

We pulled up right to front door after pumping. Was amazed that there were plenty of spaces and people just left their vehicles at the pump after filling up. Either totally ignorant or inconsiderate a—holes

Drove to Jasper to get a generator(ugh). While there pull up to a Murphy's to get gas for said generator(ugh)and fat black chick ahead of me is detailing her fricking car with the towels from the window cleaner squiggy thing. I felt like getting out and singing the fricking song Car Wash. Not pumping gas, just going around the front and back of her car like she was the only mfer at the pumps. Of course the guy behind me in the van wasn't to happy for me filling up my truck and 3 gas containers while he sitting in the sun with no AC.
