A sighting of five blue pigeons has been reported at Coon's Bluff, Salt River, and we are seeking public assistance in retrieving these birds. We currently have two pigeons in care, and it is believed that these birds may have been used in a gender reveal, which can be detrimental to their survival in the wild, making them vulnerable to predators. @Crystalscritterhaven is providing care for the retrieved pigeons.

Three pigeons remain a large as of last night. We have confirmed that these pigeons were used in a gender reveal, and the family involved has expressed concern, stating that they were misled about the safety of this practice. The business responsible for releasing the pigeons has requested their return, acknowledging the use of food-grade spray dye. Our avian veterinarian has advised that this practice is highly discouraged and can be harmful to the birds' health, particularly their sensitive respiratory systems, with unknown long-term effects. We urge everyone to refrain from supporting this trend and instead explore alternative celebration methods.

The birds were dyed as part of a gender reveal for a Valley influencer couple organized by Sacred Dove Release, a Queen Creek-based business that provides dove releases for events.
Owner Monica Flores said this was the first time her business had done a gender reveal and the first time dye had been used on the birds.
“I thought it was a beautiful idea because of the celebration that she was trying to make happen,” Flores said.
Flores said it was never her intention to put her birds in harm's way.
“I would never put my birds in harm,” she said. “I used non-toxic food coloring. I have my own procedure on how I apply it to them.”
She said most of the birds returned home and are healthy.

Probably the most fun those birds have ever had.
People need to lighten up.

Gender reveals are trashy, and culcha.

Gender reveal parties are stupid but at the same time pigeons are filthy disease ridden rats with wings. I’m conflicted.

I'm so glad this shite was relatively new back when my daughter was born. We did not participate. It seems like everyone does it now.

They should be tarred, feathered, and dyed.
