Woman chooses to swim in river with alligators and has her arm bitten off. Alligator is caught and killed. Will there be outrage?
quote:
ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman is recovering after being attacked by an alligator that bit off her arm while she swam in a river in central Florida. The unidentified victim was swimming in Wekiva River on Saturday with a group. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission spokeswoman Karen Parker said the victim left to swim somewhere more secluded and was attacked. The gator bit her arm off just above the elbow. Parker said doctors were not able to reattach it because too much time had passed.
Kayakers rescued the woman and tried beating the gator away with paddles so they could bring the victim to shore. She was taken to an Orlando-area hospital, but her condition is not known. Wildlife officers captured the gator hours later and euthanized it.

Euthanized it?
You mean they chased it down and killed it because it attacked a person swimming too close to where it lived.

They should get those cops who found a fricking alligator in the wild... and killed it to work on Hammertime's burglary case.

I know one thing, when i was living in florida, if u were an adult gator, u were fricked. Any human catches an eye on u, they called wildlife, who then called a gator hunter. If your a young gator they will trap and move, older one, ur Dead as frick.
People want to live on lakes and retention ponds, and then whine, when a gator, who lives in these areas, moves in.
oh, my wussy poodle was killed by a gator, he should be killed immediately.

Can someone tell my why people swim in the same waters where alligator are known to live? Dumb people.

Alligators do not bite people's arms off. They grab the arm then roll. This woman's arm was twisted off.
Still hurt though.

People get in the freshwater in South LA all the time. Gator attacks are still pretty rare

How did they find the right gator to "euthanize" (poor choice of terminology by the author, by the way)? There had to be more than one adult gator in that river.

Does it matter? They took the arm of some dumbass member of our race so just kill a random one to make all of us feel better.

I meant to post this last night after seeing it on my local news. What's not mentioned above is that these people were swimming in an area where gators HAD BEEN SIGHTED!!!
IDIOTS!!!
Maybe I'm an arse but I just don't have much sympathy for her.

It amazes me when animals are killed for doing what animals do in their natural environment. It was not like this Gator was terrorizing a neighborhood on foot. He was in the water for Christ's sake

Yeah, something wrong about punishing the animal in a scenario like this. I feel bad for the person, but stay out of alligator infested waters.
