Gated Driveway Question

Anyone here have a gated driveway (figure most do with all the OT ballers)? If so, do you provide access for deliveries from UPS, FedEx, etc. or do they just drop the package on the other side of the gate?

I don't have one, but I would give them the code unless you want all your shite just flung over the fence.

I have a gated driveway primarily because my house is 2 miles from the main road and I own all that property and there are either horses or cattle on the property at any given time between the road and our actual yard.
Anyway , I have a 10X10 building there that has a door on the county road side so that the mailman and fedex delivery guys can drop packages off in then we can pick them up later.
I guess I own my own post office LOL

Most gate key pads can be coded for a unique "vendor" code to be given to Mail carriers and UPS/Fed Ex if you wish to. Also for landscape/pool people.

You don't have a gatehouse with a full time gatekeeper?

My sister has a gate at her house, but has an enclosed area up front where most packages are left. Her gate/intercom is connected through wifi, so she can let people in via phone if needed

Man I wish I had family land like that.

Thanks, I was thinking about a parcel dropbox/lockbox but on a smaller scale.

I love it, I inherited it from my maternal grandfather and can document family ownership going back to 1902 for sure and supposedly it's been in the family since the Civil War, though I haven't seen documentation to prove that conclusively.

I have a gated driveway and they just leave it at the front of my house...
I guess my situation is different as my driveway is gated, but the front of my house is open to the street.

Order a drop box, then build your brick around it to match columns. Friend of mine is doing same thing. Coming out real nice.

I have a gated driveway with a ten foot high wall around my entire property and I am right in the middle of Baton Rouge. That sounds like what you may be asking since it differs significantly from people that are rural and don't have to worry about package thieves as much.
My solution was to put a lockable box on the side of the gate against the wall. It's in the flower bed and you really don't notice it unless you are looking. I was going to have a metal box made but ended up using a Pelican case I ordered online. 100% waterproof and doesn't rust. I bike locked the case to an eyebolt I put in the brick wall and then I leave an open padlock in the case. When the drivers put a package in the box, they just snap the padlock on the case (all Pelican boxes accept padlocks) and I unlock it when I come home and retrieve the package. Throw the open padlock in the box and rinse/repeat.
FWIW, I was going to go with a wi-fi camera call box on the keypad pole where the driver could call me and I could open the gate remotely but realized the drivers won't frick with that. They don't want to waste the time. And if you are going to give them the code then you might as well not have the gate. No telling who they will give the code to once they have it.

UPS guy brings it to the house. USPS/FedEx throw stuff over the fence that they can't somehow wedge into the mailbox.
Code requires me to have a side gate to walk through

I don’t have one but where I live people open them in the morning and close them in the evening or at night. So it’s not really a problem

This might not be a good idea in places like Louisiana though.

Thanks for all the responses/ideas.

I'm assuming you're talking about homes that are far off the street and the entire yard is gated?
If so, put a drop box in the front with a lock.
