option B is a great idea, as a steam gun and a hair dryer could in practice defeat option A.
You install a simple simple switch, which when the door opens it causes the data link to reset. You then have to reset the pump from inside. The pump would work in manual mode, but all card transactions would be offline until the pump was checked and turned back on.
Hmmm. Thejudge, that is a great idea.

How bout telling us at least what cities or gas stations these were at.
Oh hey, we have found out 9,000 CC numbers were stolen, here is the parish list, good luck guessing where we found them though. No need to worry

Why? If I was a badass, I'd love for someone to bring a knife to a gunfight.

One of them got my card last fall when I was traveling. They tried buying $1,000 in clothes online. Luckily my bank caught it.

Pay inside at gas stations. I know it's not as convenient but your card will be much safer.
Also, if I see someone loitering outside the gas station I stop at, I move on. I'm tired of being asked for money everywhere I go.

This is exactly why I love Samsung Pay. It works at gas pumps as long as you use a card like an insurance card to activate the card reader by inserting and withdrawing it with your phone ready. I use it or Android Pay practically everywhere.

had a baw get his CC skimmed and the losers tried to spend $300 at a TGIFridays

On one card they took a $92 Uber ride and spent over $400 at Walmart (fraud alert caught that one).
On another card they spent $200 at a children's clothing store and made a few dozen google purchases for a couple of dollars each (that's what set the fraud alert off on that one). Even after it was denied and I canceled the card they tried to sign up for that speed pass account thing that Atlanta has on their interstates.

Clark Howard had an episode end of last week saying not to use debit cards at gas stations. Get cash from your bank's ATM

Lower level LEO may not be equipped to find these thieves, however the state police and LBI have the resources and technology. These type of crimes have no reason to go unsolved.

This may be a dumb question, but is a gas station liable to you for not regularly checking their card systems on pumps, you know, to make sure one hasn't been installed on the inside?
