Another reason gas stations/convenience stores are unbearably trashy and bring out the worst of society:

"Our inspectors seem to be finding one or two skimmers on a weekly basis. Consumers are also alerting our office more often which helps us track down these devices," Stain said.
The confiscated devices contained 4,000 credit/debit card numbers, according to the Secret Service. The skimmers were found in Avoyelles, Calcasieu, Jefferson, Lafayette, Orleans, Rapides, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Washington parishes.

you can buy stolen credit card numbers with thousand dollar limits on the deep web for 10 dollars a pop

I had a baw get his CC skimmed and the losers tried to spend $300 at a TGIFridays 
He was lucky and his card alerted him because it was run in New York.

So they appear to have gone from the ones that are stuck on the front of the pump to ones that go inside the pump and can't be seen. That sucks.

Someone hacked the WiFi at one of the overpass bars and stole my damn CC info a few years ago. Bought a $6 car wash in NC, then tried to buy a $2500 TV that afternoon. Mastercard shut them down and gave me my $6 back

State could put a big arse tamper seal down the crack of the door.

The gas stations can retrofit the doors with an electrical interlock that would kill power to the pump when the door opened and could only be reset from inside the gas station.
