I think the SPR release is a few days worth of processing at the refinery's that are on that system.

Nvmd. SPR holds way more than I thought. Carry on.

It was still the right thing to do, for the US being so Christian we sure as frick don't know what Christ would do.

What does believing in Jesus Christ have to do with government shutting things down?

It’s like liberals using the Christian trope of why we should pay more taxes.

Umm, the Bible doesn’t say steal taxpayers money to give to the poor.

You'll see no change. The higher gas prices were used as an excuse to raise prices for everything across the board, whether they were affected or not.

Higher fuel costs raises the cost of everything. With that people want more money. So the cost of doing business has gone up. Whether you want to believe that or not, it’s still the truth.

When people stop paying the higher prices for those groceries and restaurants.

If people keep paying and giving them more profits, I'd ask what incentive do these companies have to lower prices just because gas prices are down?

I bought a small pack of beef stew meat (1.25 lbs) and it was over $10. Seems like prices just keep rising even though gas prices are falling.

You paid the higher amount, why would that beef stew meat company lower the price then?

Breaks down like this:

-Ukraine and Russia are major grain producers.

-They got taken off the board due to the war and nations' reactions to it.

-Countries who relied on the grain were willing to pay more to feed their people.

-Grain producers in the US and elsewhere were able to sell to them at those higher prices.

-Less grain available in the US, raises the price of grain here.

-Things using grain went up.

-Meat went up, because cattle are grain fed.

-Also printing money like crazy (which began with Trump, but EXPLODED under Biden) adds to the supply of money, which causes the value of money to decrease. If supply increases, and demand is stable. . .

I am no economist, but that is my best understanding.

in a Free Market, the person who lowers his prices can corner the market. Especially if the competition is operating from a blind greed perspective.

What freight companies are using gas?

Diesel is still sky high.

Per the US Energy Information Administration, since the first week of August:

Gasoline prices (all grades average) have dropped from an average of $4.15 per gallon to $3.80. Diesel has risen from $4.99 to $5.05

With inflation, the drop in gas prices will be offset with higher price increases in other day to day goods and services.

Companies used gas price excuse to hike up prices on everything. All the lawn companies that raised their prices by $10-$20, because of gas. Will they lower them now that gas is coming down? No. It was an excuse to raise prices and no one batted an eye. This goes for evey company.

Gas price was not the only issue in the supply chain. When you shut a country down it is not like you can flip a light switch and everything is like it was. The big issue, or a big issue, is lack of labor. Someone has to make it, load it, move it and deliver. Across the board every industry is labor handicapped. The real long term COVID cough impact is laziness. Sad times.
