Had Gary gone to prison, I wonder how the inmates/guards would’ve treated him. Dude is a hero, no doubt.

"defended" his family isn't accurate. He was extracting revenge. Nothing wrong with that, in my book, but very different than "defending"

The question is, would you do the same thing?

And if no, why are you a pussy shite?

Because "rednecks" is the group most likely to shoot people?

You sound like a stupid fricking liberal.

He would've been treated well by the guards and left alone by most inmates imo. In that prison culture, many inmates would have respected what Plauche did, especially the one's with children. I think most would think Plauche didn't belong there.

both and I respect the man for what he did. I couldn't imagine how much he was hurting.

Honestly, I’d like to know the stats on repeat offenders for sexual crimes. Need to research.

Without research I’d just, what if Doucet gets 10 years or whatever, then gets out and does it to someone else. He was only 25 or so. It’s very possible that Gary saved some other family from heartbreak. IMO.

Ah, is it already time for this monthly thread? How the time flies...

Dude, I searched the database first but found only one thread that referenced his name. My join date shows recent but only because my email provider went south and rejoined with new user ID. I've been kinda regular here since 2007 but don't recall any... but if this is beating a dead horse, I do apologize. Personally. I don't get tired of topics that are inspirational...I wouldn't object to a statue of the man... right out in front of 19th Judicial.

The answer is C) a loving concerned father and a victim himself.

may be the best answer... he said he felt helpless in an interview I believe given before the extradition of Doucet. In that respect, it was an act of bravery. The chance of Plauche losing his own life was extremely high...consider his only window of opportunity no more than 1 or 2 seconds, the chaos of discharging a weapon in the center of a moving, armed police escort... he acted with focused, deliberate intent, even laid his weapon down before they could restrain him....no doubt this was a man willing to lay his life down to see justice done for his family.

If it happened today, liberals would want to know how he was able to purchase a “fully semi-automatic pistol”.

You may have privileged info that we don't but he was separated. It's hard to control all "situations" at this time. And he was a man, separation/divorce can knock some pretty strong men of course. We all have our issues. I honestly could care less what went on in his personal life ..and unless he had a long rap sheet or previous criminal behavior, which he apparently did not, I don't think it's important enough to weigh against his actions, their legal outcome, and the impact they have on us.

Why Gary?! Why?!

I always bring this up. He was damned lucky to not be a cop killer. Crazy assed cross armed shot while trying to hang up the pay phone left handed and shoot right handed while being stalking. There were 2 (I believe) cops heads not far away.

When he did fire he looked like a guy shooting a water pistol at people. Gun looked about waist or belly high and pointed up. Crazy shot.
