Definitely a hero in my book

What's your definition of "hero"?

I'm glad he got to kill the perv who kidnapped his son. Great act of vengeance, which sadly isn't valued much anymore.

But the perv had been caught by police, kid was safe, perv was in cuffs in police custody. Dad's act did nothing to save or protect his child.

Had he loaded up the truck, track the perv down, killed him while saving his son, absolutely. But I just don't see how he is a "hero" here.

No you didn't... it wasn't shown live. It showed up on the television about 5 minutes after it happened. I know that for a fact.

True...the shooting took place at 9:30pm. When people say that most of them mean they were watching the news live when it aired.

The only regret he had was killing a human...he felt he might end up in hell. But he would have done it again with no regret.

Had to have been hard on him with both what happened and the killing. Know people that killed in self defense and they have a lot of trouble dealing with that.

The real question is how many years would he get if he did that today?

At least 15, right?

Please. Still to come was the trauma of being torn apart by the defense at the trial. This happened back when sexual assault victim-witnesses were being vilified by the defense at a much greater extent than today.

Can you imagine the agony of your child going through that after he'd already suffered the kidnap and abuse?

Rest in peace, Gary Plauche.

HERO

I argue killing a predator is in fact NOT murder.

quote:

Gary Plauche committed murder with a hand gun in a public place on live TV

He killed a predator enemy of the public who posed a threat. That is not murder.
