I agree with you Sody Cracker.

I was 4 or 5 at the time, so I’ve never heard of this incident. I read through this and old threads, and really do not understand the few posters say that Jody enjoys the attention somehow? That is ridiculous. I think they must just be uncomfortable about a man brave enough to speak publicly and factually about being raped as a child.

Jody, you are awesome for being an advocate for awareness. As a parent of an 8 year old son, I also respect and understand what your father did that day.

How did your dad know where to set up? Was he tipped off?

My dad used to work at Channel 2. He bowled with a lot of the workers for channel 2.

Bob Shadel (sp) was the program director at the time and the Friday of the shooting...Bob Shadel told my dad what time the flight arrived at The Cotton Club on Highland Road at lunch.

Obviously he did not think he would shoot him.

My dad set up across from the camera because he figured he would come walking by the camera. The news camera had just filmed my return 2 weeks earlier.

He used the lights on the camera to know when to turn around...plus he told me he was looking out the side of his sunglasses. Once he disappeared...he used the lights.

For anybody wondering about what Jody is like today, I would strongly suggest going to YouTube and looking for Jody Plauche E:60. It’s pretty recent, made in the last few years.

Watch the whole thing. At the end he basically says he’s not gonna let this define him. I really admire that. I also really admire the fact that you advocate and do good work, Jody. Good on you man.

I also cracked up when tom renaldy asks his mom how she felt when Gary shot the guy and she said at least he coulda let me drive him.

That's a badass story

Was your dad worried about accidentally shooting someone else?

I was living in Pineville at the time. I remember it plain as day when it happened.

The case already had statewide attention before the shooting.

Everyone heard about the shooting and about 4 or 5 friends were at my house stacked up watching the evening news. I bet they showed the clip 10 times.

When is your book coming out? I’d like to buy a copy.

Just don’t let Mikel get the pages all sticky if you know what I mean.

Rinaldi's 1st question when he got out of the car was, "Why don't LSU fans like Les Miles?"

My answer, "The same reason boxing fans never liked Larry Holmes...he's not 'The Greatest. '"

He was a cool guy...and my mother actually told my dad that.

When we 1st appeared on Geraldo in 91 a guy asked him that question and his answer was, "when I looked down the barrel of that gun...I knew who I was hitting."

My dad was an excellent shot. He did piss Bud Connors off. Saw Bud at Twin Peaks a few months ago and we talked about it.

Hopefully sometime this year...the sooner the better. But, I want it to be done right.

We want to tell the story...but most importantly do some good.

That’s awesome. I’m sure the National media is still scratching their heads over what lsu did. Miles will be forever judged against the greatest coach. But I degress.

My Dad said your Dad was the best shot he ever saw. Said he never missed anything.

I'm not sure about this but didn't he only have one round in the pistol?

The sicko kidnapped and raped this child, and you don't have a problem with what he did?

I think he had more than one round but I think the story is he had blanks mixed with hollow points and rat shot, etc...

Pretty sure he got him with the hollow point. That way it would not exit and hit anyone else.

That's what I have heard...but the only time I saw my father shoot a gun was on the news.
