During Hurricanes or even the 2016 floods we have wondered how the rest of the country just misses the story despite it being a generational event here.

Half of Gary, Indiana has been without power for +10 days. Northwest Indiana in general is wrecked.

cbs news

quote:

Beginning Aug. 11, several days of powerful storms walloped northwest Indiana, killing at least seven people and displacing about 1,000. The storms brought record rainfall that flooded several communities.

Not really SHOCKING!! or UNBELIEVABLE!!

Just more that something like this is happening and almost 2 weeks in very few know about it.

Shooting at the people trying to restore power. Also, bad.

If I were them I’d just Beat It, it doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right.

But then they would have to look at the man in the mirror, leaving people without power. If only it was as easy as ABC. I just hope Annie is okay.

I ain’t saying it doesn’t suck, it does. But it’s 63 degrees over night right now with a high of 74, the “feels like” is true because of a lower dew point/ humidity.

They can sleep with the windows open and be very comfortable. (Given it’s Gary so that’s dangerous without bars on your windows)

ETA: frankly if they sleep with the windows open it maybe cold.

I rode the train from Chicago to South Bend once. There was a stop in Gary.

Could have been me.

Well to be fair, 80% of the utility customers in Gary, Indiana are probably 10 days or more late on paying the power bill so it basically a wash.

Exactly. If we lost power in Louisiana in August for 2 weeks people would literally die of heat exhaustion

Must have Biden yard signs. Kinda like opposite of NC.

Well without electricity, no one will be looting cold beer and tv"s like during Katrina.
