Either I’ve been grossly underestimating ratchet straps or ole baw that loaded this grossly overestimated. That thing has got to weigh a lot and he’s only got two straps over it. I have 3 on my 4wheeler/trailer.

I count 6; 4 over the base of the statue and 2 over the top of the statue. Each of those straps are probably rated for 10,000 pounds.

I wish they would strap the mayor to the back of a flat bed and ship him out of state.

Looks like a pretty clean removal. Even on both sides

Yep. Straps are sufficient. Those fat Yella ones can tow a full size suv each.

Mitch Landrieu hasn't been mayor for two and half months.

Bernardo De Galvez was a key ally in the Revolutionary War and was governer of the La Territory for most of the War.
He lived up in Ft Rosalie in Natchez for some time.
Unlike the Civil War Generals, he's been getting new shite named FOR him in the last century , not the vice versa. Not that I support the removal of any of our monuments thus far.
Galveston, TX is named after Galvez.

New Orleans smells like copper?
I guess you've never seen the Statue of Liberty either.

Different straps have different load ratings

This seems risky having such a unique piece of history transported to be cleaned? Not like it can be replaced. Is it difficult to clean bronze? (assuming based on the wear that it is bronze.)
