I might be able to make it to the parking lot outside of my hotel, if I get a good nights sleep tonight.

Here's the deal.
About 3 years ago I ran over 1000 miles for the year. At the beginning of the next year I ran a full marathon without stopping.
Fast forward to recently, before I started running again regularly:
I could hardly run 2 miles without having to stop for a quick moment.

If you're talking about an impromptu run, especially in the heat, when you've done zero running recently, it will be harder than you think.
But, I will add that if you otherwise work out and are fit and trim, it'll be much easier.

Let’s see, I’m probably 150 feet from my car. So 150 feet.

I did the Crescent City Classic a few years back.
I ran until I got tired then walked. Repeat. After half the race I ran the rest of the way. I’m old and about 30 lbs over weight.

If I had too, for my life? A few miles. If I wanted to on a bike, probably 50. I don’t know never tested the theory. Clop, clop ,clopping don’t the road doesn’t do it for me. I’m a swamper so high speed stepping ain’t my thing

Now, at 56? 5k easy, maybe even 10K.

When I was an 8th grade wrestler, I went to a race with my dads business partner expecting a 5k. He told me on the way it was a half marathon. I was sore for days after that, but I finished it with just wrestling training.

Don't most amateurs who train for marathons walk at some point during the race?

I blame my poor level of running fitness on Covid and the close proximity of food working from home.

I run a couple times a week, could do a 10k fairly easily.

Probably could do a half if you had a gun in my back the whole way. Very slowly.
