He vetoed projects of 16 GOP legislators who went against his shitty insurance “fix.” Can’t wait for his term to end in 2.5 years.
Hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but all governors do this. Media Saint JBE did this, EWE did this, and even Jindal did this.
Some in the legislature know, you do not cross any governor with line item veto power without collateral damage to your district.

These projects are a positive for their communities. Communities need positive things.

I only checked the supplemental appropriations and not the capital outlay list. JBE twice vetoed pet projects as political retaliation. A few items in the Houma area in 2021 and a list of pet projects in 2023 for legislators that voted against raising the spending cap.

The state has no business funding any of these things
I absolutely agree.
Unfortunately, the Governor allowed similar projects to be funded by the state as long as they were requested by a legislator who did what he wanted.
I’m for cutting all that sort of stuff out of the budget and capital outlay bills, regardless who puts it in.

Should the government not keep and maintain public parks?
It depends on the Government. Should the State maintain and improve City and Parish public spaces or vice versa?

If Landry is the only republican option I will sit out and not vote.
Not voting at all means you're voting for the other weasel.
Better to have the weasel you know than the weasel you don't know.

Went to high school with him at Captain Shreve. He was never one to mince words.
Same. Class of 86 for me. He’s a good guy. Genuinely nice to all and never was part of the cliques at Shreve.

Everybody should’ve seen Landry being a disappointment coming from mikes away.
I proudly did not vote for him.
I voted for a different republican.
Ppl need to actually do their homework and not just vote for the main guy bc you’re told so.

There was an excellent slate of republican candidates but unfortunately the 7 day creationist population of the state ruined things for the rest of us.

I still don’t know how or why he got as elected AG, which really moved the needle on his path.
Because Buddy Caldwell is that big of a dumbass would have lost to anyone with a warm body that year.

I hope Landry, Gordon, Bart, and the rest of those PI lawyers read this board. They can all pound sand. Worthless pieces of shite that does nothing to better this state.

Me too. Louisiana will never never never ever have cheap insurance. All these legislators just want to cave in to the non Christian insurance global mafia
