The area south of Homestead, Florida has never recorded snow. Only place in the United States. Even Hawaii and Death Valley, CA have recorded snow.

that is because of its proximity to the equator.

It snows relatively often in Hawaii. Once every few years.

Yeah...seems like they've set a pretty low bar for those other places compared that that one tip of Florida.

I doubt it's ever snowed at elevations below 5,000' in Hawaii.

Just the tip, though.

THIS.
In the colder months, it's not uncommon for snow to fall on on Hawaii's mountain peaks of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on "the big island" (Hawaii) since they are nearly 14,000 feet high. For reference sake, Mt. Rainier is just over 14,000 feet high.
The only other area of Hawaii that gets snow with any regularity is the Haleakala volcano on Maui, which at about 10,000 feet gets snow once every five years or so.

Jan 1979 Miami (pretty close) got plenty of snow. It was a big National deal- my teacher told us it was proof of the coming ice age caused by evil Republicans and particulates in the air blocking normal sunlight. By 2000 there would be global famine, crop failure, mass species extinctions etc.

We actually got 2-3 inches of snow in Jacksonville during the 93 blizzard.

The snow in S.Fla is measured in grams not inches
