Where I live has never had a frost. Many kinds of animals and plants here would die for prolonged (2-3 days) exposure to 50 degree weather.

Jan 1979 Miami (pretty close) got plenty of snow. It was a big National deal- my teacher told us it was proof of the coming ice age caused by evil Republicans and particulates in the air blocking normal sunlight. By 2000 there would be global famine, crop failure, mass species extinctions etc.
In my life as a kid, it used to snow just about every year in my neck of the woods. Now it hardly ever snows and if it does it is maybe every 4-5 years. Christmas was always cold. Once I got into college I remember students outside playing volleyball in shorts, as I was leaving for xmas week. Same still applies as it still gets in the 70s in Dec at times. That is returded.

You must have a hell of a tolerance for moderately cold weather. It definitely gets cold in Ft Meyers.

18 years in West Palm Beach. The heater has been on a few times because it's gotten into the 30s and low 40s a handful of times during the almost 2 decades I've been here.

And?

The area south of Homestead, Florida has never recorded snow. Only place in the United States. Even Hawaii and Death Valley, CA have recorded snow.
Key West has never even experienced a frost.
