Yes, I’m glad we’re tackling important issues

Everybody KNOWS and EXPECTS that prices are cheaper at big box stores, and that CONVENIENCE STORES cost more because although they can’t get bulk discounts, they are way more CONVENIENT.
We don’t need the government to fix this.
Warren is a power hungry female Joe Stalin.

Everything costs more at a convenience store. I've never noticed Pepsi being outrageously more expensive than Coca-Cola. Chips, crackers, gum, candy.... are all of those companies rigging prices or are you just paying more for the convenience?
Elizabeth Warren sounds out of touch here.

Rivertown in coushatta charges 3.79 for a two liter diet rootbeer. Walmart charges 1.69 for the same drink. I don't even want to talk about mayo and eggs.

Will she tackle the issue of Iccee’s are cheaper at the local corner store than they are at Walmart too?

This is the stupidest shite imaginable. If this actually succeeds then EVERYTHING will cost more.

She’s probably under the assumption that only black people shop at corner stores.
So she’s making it some sort of race thing.

I guess they don’t use Amazon that much.

Walmart negotiates with these companies who obviously want them to carry their product. Walmart tells them what price they are willing to pay, and the company must comply if they want Walmart to carry it. Not really fair to the little stores, but that’s the power of big purchases.

Unless someone wants to correct me- it’s not banning bulk volume pricing, just if Pepsi is going to have a price break at 500 cases for Big Box, you have to extend that same offer (at the same case volume) to your other customers so they can get their prices down as well.

The government should not be deciding what discounts soft drinks are allowed to give to retailers.
