No. My group of friends has thrown the idea out of having a Friendsgiving but never worked out because its tough to get a date that fits around multiple peoples' work and personal schedules, people using kids time off from school to travel, and Thanksgiving with families.
I think Friendsgiving works out easier for people who either are single or no kids and have extra time or that aren't originally from the area and don't have family in the area to plan around family Thanksgiving

Yeah we are hosting it Saturday after thanksgiving. We enjoy it, just my wife and I, and three other couples.

We do it. Why wouldn't it be fun? Good food with friends.

I always meet up with some high school friends at either Ivar's or earls. Those places are like chs/Sja high school reunions the night before thanksgiving/Xmas.

Yes. I enjoy it more than my family Thanksgiving.

We do the orphan Friendsgiving, since we all live far away for our families

Thanksgiving is an American tradition. Why would a group of Gringos want to hang out and play football with a bunch of Mexicans the Saturday after Thanksgiving?

I'd rather have a get together with my closes friends than my family, but the night before would make things more hectic for everyone because everyone would get caught up in doing something else. Likely playing cards, when we all get together it almost automatic that a card game breaks out so by the time we finish playing cards everyone would have had enough to drink to say "frick it" I'll do that in the morning..
Then the day after would be difficult because there are those who go shoppings, some people work, etc..

I'm still in this boat. But, it should be entertaining this year because half my family voted for Trump and the other half are super-liberals. Let the games begin!

Just more about a holiday with people you actually like as opposed to people you're forced to love.
It makes me sad that you have such a shitty family.
I wouldn't trade the days that I get to spend with mine for anything.

People have been doing this for years but only recently had to give it a name for social media when they post the picture on Instagram.
