I worked at a bowling alley for years in college. Every night I can home reeking of smoke and I would get a few sinus infections a year. After I quit, everthing cleared up and I rarely have sinus issues. So I know it makes a difference and the harmful effects are there. Sure, people choose to work there but the employer holds some responsibility to protect their employee's welfare. I'm happy for those people working at these places. They shouldn't have to be subjected to it..

To be clear, Im not saying that a 40 year study is 100% accurate on this topic, but I'm not taking stats on race relations from the Nation of Islam either.

Here's the deal Stalin

People go to bars to indulge in vices

Drinking, smoking, gambling, twerking, getting STDs from one night stands. Whatever.

It's not meant to be a fricking health resort.
what don't these pussies understand about this?

Cause there wasn’t anything else at that bowling alley that could’ve caused your symptoms, right?

Did all the other employees get sick too?

You're taking the stance that the government should stay out of workplace safety?

I fail to see how banning indoor smoking affects an owners bottom line for the vast majority of bars.
Well, let me help you

Sure people did. It was over 20 years ago though and I didn't think anything of it. Most didn't either. If I would have known, I probably would have made other choices. I still can't support the idea of workplaces that don't protect their employees. I just don't believe that should be legal, without some kind of waiver, agreement and compensation if they are affected. No company or business has that kind of protection..

Thank the gods we have better people than you in charge.

OSHA might be overbearing at times, but they do some incredible stuff.

Here's an article from Slate. About as left wing as you can find.

This is a rare, good OT thread

Of course that has something to do with a lot of f&d posters being involved
