Is it really “unmanly” to love a woman to the point of being “weak” toward her as far as showing her you care about her and love her?

Full disclosure, I’m divorced and toying with the idea of dating again (I’ve dated off and on but nothing serious or with any intent) but lately I’ve been thinking that finding one person to live out my days with isn’t a terrible idea.

Maybe it’s watching my dad going through end days with his wife, but I think a real man lets a woman he loves know how much he loves her.

Growing old alone is not healthy. Just being around family is good for you, but someone to share the journey with is better as long as you get along. Men especially isolate when they retire.

Duh, youre going to need someone to care for you as you become enfeebled. They can help prolong the need for a nursing home.

Nope. I am many things, but desperate is not one of them. Been very happy and comfortable living on my own for 12+ years. Just bourbon-driven thoughts on a slow Friday night.

Showing someone you care and love them isn’t weak. Being a sniveling bitch while crying about the ones that got away is.

I agree with you. It takes courage to put yourself out there like that.

Your story reminded me of a song. Best of luck.

Let me stop you right there. A real man does things the way he wants to do them. That's it. Except for the dead fish handshake, that is unmanly.

You don't speak for all men.

Go kiss some coach's arse on Sportsline like a "real man"
