at some point I figured I would have seen one of you returning a cart since most of us live near each other. Still waiting.

Shop at either Ralph's on 44 or Harvest when I'm there and you will absolutely see me return the cart to the cart areas next to the building.

Nope small town store .. only option is to bring it back into the store, which is typically what I do. SOMETIMES the guys are out there rounding them up and I'll give it to him if he is.

I agree. What really bothers me is when they do that and they're not that far away from the hold. You got to be a real lazy piece of shite to not push the buggy 10 feet to the hold.

For the record, there IS no return bay where I shop. I do typically bring the cart back into the store. BUT a return slot would be nice.

Calvin’s in Bocage is like this. But the bag boys actually carry the groceries out to the car for the older customers so if you do leave your cart out it will be picked up within minutes.

I love the Cart Narcs.

Watching these POS melt down when they're too effing lazy to walk 25 feet to put their cart away.

Exactly- you’re destroying jobs by putting the carts in the rack.

People will cut through opens spots to avoid driving the extra 20-30ft to the end of the aisle. Not only dangerous but, how much time does that actually save?

I do this all the time at Walmart or very crowded stores. I’d rather cut through than deal with circling back at the entrance with slow moving herds of people crossing the lanes. I also have a blind spot in my truck by the door hinge where sometimes I don’t see pedestrians while turning.

Same with the Rouses on Carrollton Ave. in N.O. You either have to bring it to the store or there's a sidewalk type area between two parking areas that people tend to push them to.

But yeah, lots of folks just push them into a parking spot near them and drive off.

There are a lot of certain types who leaves their cart in the parking lot. Guess they just running late for midnight basketball.

Yep, just left Rouses about 1/2 hour ago and counted 4 on my way to my truck to put my groceries in the cab and all of them left the cart right next to their car. One short of a team. And it was the WNBA to boot.

I try to boost my overall karma score by taking a cart back to the store if I see one in the parking lot not in the return stalls. I'm not crossing a big lot to go get one, but if I see one near my parking spot or in the path of my walk to the entrance, I'll use it for my shopping and put it up when I'm done.

I cannot stand carts that aren't returned or at least put in the collection points.

Yeah, I'll go against the grain on this one. I dont get paid to organize buggies in the parking lot, just like I dont get paid to check out my own groceries.

If i thought grocery prices would drop based on fewer employees needed for parking lot and checkout, I wouldnt mind putting up my buggy or checking myself out.

But they wont. So nothing changes on my end.

When I was a teenager and worked summers at Albertsons, people would leave their kid's shitty diapers in the parking lot. I thought that was the most disgusting thing in the world.

I was a lifeguard. They would do the same thing around the kiddie pool. This was a country club, not a public pool. Trashiness knows no income level.

I like Publix. They hustle carts all day long, rain or shine. They also take your groceries to your car if you want

Most of the posters in this thread seem unaware that grocers used to carry your purchases to your car for you. More jobs for the little people.

Then along comes the big box stores with “cost saving measures” which included convincing the customer that it’s his responsibility to both carry out his purchases and keep the parking lot neat and tidy.

frick you, Walmart.
