Not sure your using the term Pollyanna correctly but congrats on the sarcasm if that's what you're going for. How long have you worked for DOTD?

To the previous point, lets compare the size of the areas I contrasted to the thriving BR metroplex. i believe you'd agree those cities, given the much larger area are more efficient than BR based on the size and population of each when put up against BR.

Baton Rouge - 26.9 minutes

Can your precious statistics measure for existential dread? If not they show nothing about BR traffic. Nothing.

It sure as hell is a big bitch dealing with awful roads and bad infrastructure. It's depressing to go out of town somewhere with a nice suburban, classy feel, then come back to this shite.

My assumption would be River Road to Gardere to Highland to Pecue.

I agree. No way that would be consistently 20 mins

Nicholson to burbank, burbank to siegen/perkins, hook a right.

No one runs radar on burbank at that time of day and traffic runs 70+ between the lights.

Or that.

I used to make it from LSU to Santa Maria via that route in 18-20 minutes so it's certainly doable.

So BR ranks up there with huge cities like Dallas and you think that's good?

But according to the anecdotal evidence of the OT, Baton Rouge traffic is sooooooo much worse than any other traffic that ever existed.

This is a LSU based forum where many if not most posters have lived in BR but have also lived elsewhere. Don't act like you know some secret. BR traffic is a nightmare.

I can't speak for Lafayette or Shreveport but I've also lived in Nola, and BR traffic is far worse. And I guarantee people who have actually lived in both places would agree, despite this study. I imagine the Nola time is skewed by the heavy north shore commute which relies on the unpredictable Causeway. Bc the surface streets flow better and there's nothing in Nola as asinine as the daily miles-long gridlock on eastbound approach to the BR bridge. And I know that isn't calculated into that time either, Bc it takes at least an hour to cross BR via I-10 in the afternoon.

Bluebonnet to the bridge has already taken me damn near an hour on a Friday arternoon. Think it was nearly an hour to travel about 7 miles

And I live somewhere that I don't have to deal with BR traffic. Amazing concept.

My assumption, though, is since he complained so much about traffic in BR that he lives in suburbia and would do the same in ATL.

As crappy as the traffic is in BR I cross the bridge everyday at 4:30 and my commute from PA to Essen rarely takes more than 25 minutes...about double the time with no traffic. I am just wondering what city isn't a complete clusterfrick at that time.

100% a lie. I work in Brusly and 3-4 days a week it takes more than 25 minutes just to get ON TO the bridge. Much less getting across the bridge and all the way to Essen. And that is with me leaving at about 3:30 so it would only be that much worse at 4:30 You are so full of shite.

BR is the textbook example of how not to design a traffic grid.
