I'm talking about the "newspapers" that get thrown once a week or so. Used to have two of these, but since the newspapers combined, we only get one Advocate/T-P one now.

It includes a weekly section of newspaper and a whole bunch of ads.

This has become a big issue in our neighborhood group. Absolutely noone reads these. So, it's just litter that we have to pick up and throw away.

Hard to believe these are still being used in 2019. Such a waste of paper and money, and annoyance.

Collect them from every neighbor and dump them on their steps

I use the newsprint to start my charcoal chimney when I grill or smoke.

Can’t even use them to line cages anymore. They come pre-filled with shite

I don’t understand why no one goes after the groups that print all the crappy ads that are stuck in the paper & mail
Seems like that would be a perfect cause for a environmental group

Me too. I kind of rely on that litter.

I was going to say the same thing. I don't get a free newspaper thrown in my yard but I would welcome it only for this reason. I usually take the local newspaper from work when everybody is done reading it so that I can use for starting my charcoal chimney.

The weekly newspaper delivery people sometimes throw one to everyone who isn’t a subscriber. It’s usually a 2-page paper with little news content and lots of advertising. If one lands on my driveway it goes straight into the trash can.

Advocate tried that shite on our street a couple years ago. I called them and raised HELL.

I asked, "Why are you all littering in our subdivision"?

Told them if they ever did it again, I would file a litter complaint with the City.

They never threw another free paper on our street again.

We get 2 or 3 a week. The only one I keep is the one that includes the weekly Publix deals in it.

This is why they are throwing them in everyone's yard.

Its just like TV, the more eyes on your product, the more appealing it is to advertisers and the more you can charge.

Gas grill, baw.

And yeah during crawfish season sometimes I will use them. But I'm not storing newspapers until next year. And half the time, it seems like it rains the day they throw them, and that cheap little baggie it comes in doesn't keep the paper dry. So now it's a wet, useless mess.

Oh I have one. But I'm not using my Genesis to smoke pork shoulders or briskets. Charcoal only for that.

Thanks for the breakdown, I'm sure people were wondering why people advertised in the paper

My plan was to rent a drop dumpster. Have the city keep their papers to dump in the dumpster.
Once dumpster is full empty on the lawn of the owner of the paper.

That should get the message.
