It’s amazing the difference 3-5 miles makes for damage and power outages. AP got what EBR was going to get until the due East track after passing over Maurepas . That’s the real story to me here in hamlet of St. George

The path that it actually took was outside of the cone.
Why do we have to do this shite every single time?

They should take it out then

Hurricanes don’t seem to travel along straight lines on a local level, but what’s the alternative?
Posted on 9/12/24 at 10:03 am to MikeD
I agree. there's an option to turn it off, and I never turn the line on.

Because the knights want to use their cone as their defense yet it went a path that was outside the cone numerous times of the cones of the most recent 36 hours. All people are asking for is to say it wasn’t their best storm modeling. Aka shitting the bed.

The libs at the NWS were focusing on the EURO model. They don’t even get hurricanes in Europe.
Idk if this was serious or a joke but either way

frick the track. When's power going to be restored in AP. How cooked are we?
I don’t know the SOP obviously but with so many areas not losing power, I’d assume they will send the crews on hand to focus on the areas that did and hopefully restore soon! May be some delay until the winds clear out.

Part of it is low IQ emotional people do what they do.
Part of it is attention whoring hacks need their attention.
That about covers 90% of the issue:

Still no word from AT&T. Usually they send out a message about unlimited data for all in impacted areas and not a peep from Cox either
based on my Beryl experience. AT&T doesn’t GAF. And don’t expect any type of discount/rebate for the lack of service during and after the hurricane. Still got fully charged after a full week of almost no service.

Wasn't he shilling that baby blue line in this pic? Not sure I'd be "spiking the football"
Yeah on Tuesday Fox8 was pushing the Graf line hard. I think they backed off of that yesterday for the most part.

More like 40 miles.
ok, 33 miles on a horizontal plane

If the margin of error is that big, they need to stop representing the track with a line and just provide a 50-mile wide path.
the NHC does not provide a line, they provide a cone.
the text on their graphic even says
quote:
Note: The cone contains the probable path of the storm center
and other than that jog due east over the lake, the center of the storm stayed within their cone.

It takes high iq people to be okay w amateur performances.

did you bring it up and request one? they're greedy and won't do it automatically, but if you push them, you can find some success. obviously it's just a few bucks, but worth it in principle

I feel like this is the complaint on here for every single storm the last 10 years

it's become a meme. chad is just trolling. we need to add it to the bingo card

Then why on the NHC's own site and map do they call it "Forecast Track Line"?
This shite is crazy. Forecasting is hard, errors will be made. The NHC and NWC could do a better job. Hell, my point forecast max wind gusts varied by 65mph Over a period of 18 hours.
You don't have to defend a Gov. agency like someone just fricked your little sister or called your baby ugly. You're starting to sound like one of the nutjobs over defending Fauci. Let it go.

Ahh gotcha.
Anyway, I keep updating the entergy map for the nola metro area and the outage map looks exactly the same now as it did 8 hours ago.
