I agree and I was one hating on Katz. Our local weather guys were definitely closer than anyone else

Here is the thing:
Does the NHC deserve to be mocked? No, they were close
However, the board weathermen on here mocked the shite out of Katz and Fox 8 all morning yesterday and he was actually closer in the end
100% agree on both, and I was one of the ones mocking the shite out of him

My son never lost power. They are past your area, though, heading to Folsom.

They didn't teach "How to manipulate hurricanes via the George Bush Weather Machine" at ULM.
Is that only taught at Colorado State?

Just wanted to say that some of us check here for actual useful information as thousands of people on this board are simultaneously experiencing a weather catastrophe and there is a lot of smart people on here with useful knowledge and experience.
Some of yall are turning this into a pissing contest of who was right and effectively making this thread unusable due to the number of bullshite posts.
Guess what. Nobody gives a shite about when or what you predicted.
Rant (off) on

Which models had hinted at for 24 hours but NHC wouldnt budge center line past morgan city
NHC center line was pretty much right on the Calumet Cut.
Actual center of eye at landfall was only 15 miles east of Calumet.
that's pretty damn close.

DEMCO? haven't seen any update or timeline from them.

So are you guys saying that wonky track it took is close to what the NHC was saying? Looks like it ended up to the far east of the projected cone.
Posted on 9/12/24 at 9:36 am to BeeFense5
But the entire State was within the cone at some point!!! LOL
NHC had it going through Baton Rouge early yesterday; big difference.
Posted on 9/12/24 at 9:38 am to RougeDawg
My only issue was the fact it jumped that far east that fast. definitely changed the game for us on the Northshore but we should have been prepared anyway.

Francine was nowhere near a Cat 2 storm. Everyone is focused on the track and not the fact that not one weather station on land recorded winds approaching 100 mph. NHC said 100 mph sustained and gusts to 120 mph.
Let's pause for a minute to think how or why this would be so inaccurate.
NHC is under NOAA...what narrative have they been pushing?
