West Napoleon Canal across from the library a little earlier. The canal and street merged.

Does anyone have any information conditions in the River Ridge area including any canal over flow issues? We have some family who live there and haven’t been able to communicate with them yet.

Live in the ridge, by langensteins so away from the canals. Never had a scare with water but I cleared out my drains a couple times- they were packed with leaves and shite. Neighborhood Facebook page said some houses had water around the railroad tracks and little farms. Have friends who live near enough to there and they said they’re fine some water on the street but nothing near their house.

Still have power but concerned about these gusts on the backside, have heard transformers popping for the last hour.

Y’all think the JP pumps couldn’t keep up or something was wrong with them?

Thank god we don't live in Seattle because I don't think I could handle the lack of electricity there.

So is there anything left on the backside of this for New Orleans at this point?

Anyone know anything about the pumps and time for street flooding to reverse.

I’m inches away on both cars.

They were plugging their GRAF south of Houma and New Orleans on Fox8 all day and now they want to walk it back to saying they just meant the NHC was too far west? Spare me.

This just isn’t true. He repeatedly said he felt the storm was going more east than NHC model and they should’ve shifted it to east more to align with most of the models through river parishes. Yes they showed the GRAF that they subscribe to but that he felt that was too far east.

In the end, the fighting over who was right is silly. The NHC was about 30 miles too far west. The GRAF about the same too far east. Neither should change people’s prep.

That weather.gov site with the charts shows the wind dying down in Mandeville soon but then spiking again around 4am. What's that about?

I was wondering the same thing. And MSY still reporting wind from the SE. How can they have SE winds with the center of circulation to the WNW?

In fairness Francine has been moving NW for the last hour or so

The pipes are antiquated plus several of the NOLA S&WB's emergency generators went down which help pump out Old Metairie.
