The private marketplace is free to compete with the NHC. They don't though because it's the fricking weather man. Think about how difficult it is to gather realtime information from the entire fricking globe and then plug it into the best supercomputers money can buy. The butterfly effect takes over the moment something you initialized is incorrect and then extrapolate that minor problem over the next 48/60/72/96/120 hours.
People can't predict the fricking stock market with any regularity, and that's all human based, but you want them to predict the weather a few days out to perfection. Asinine post.
