I peruse these threads for the gold. Every time I’m ready to throw in the towel, one of you fricks drops a post that makes it all worth it.

I honestly don’t know why anyone would still want to live in LaPlace. That place gets flooded by storms constantly

To be fair, you’ll get the most accurate report by combining exactly what rds, Duke, and Boat say with exactly the opposite of what peej says.

His job is to keep the public informed his job is not to be the NHC. He needs to echo what the NHC advises. Up to this point the NHC has been the most west and guess what the NHC has been right. Which means Fradella and the other fear lingering “weather gurus” have been wrong.

12z NAM is closest to the NHC line and is showing localized 15-19" 24 hour totals in and around Morgan City area.

Not ideal if that verifies as Morgan City is surrounded by levees and water has to be pumped out.

You’re right. Dang it.

I hope I didn’t anger them and they drop some more last minute silver iodide on those “hurricane hunter” flights

I refuse to watch the weather channel. Does anyone have a YouTube live stream or anything like that to watch what’s going on?

Filling up old ice chest for toilet water and what not. I think this much easier than dealing w bathtubs leaking and what not. Have utility sink filled. May still do a tub or so.

I know Baton Rouge proper maxed out at gusts of 63mph with sustained I believe somewhere in the 40's, though I'm not as certain of the latter number. Take that for reference.

A high school friend and her husband had just moved to Shenendoah from their home in Grand Lake (south of Lake Chuck) because of all the mosquitos still there after Laura. A jokingly asked them to move back. BTW, Laura peeled up both ends of the roof of their new home. Nothing at all damaged in the homes a quarter mile east and west of them. Tornado, not hurricane damage.
