How high were the winds in eastern EBR/western Livingston during Ida?
I;m guessing hurricane. Odd thing is a neighbor's camp in Grand Isle didn't lose the round Weber BBQ pit and picnic table from his second floor deck. We had next to nothing here near LSU

I know Baton Rouge proper maxed out at gusts of 63mph with sustained I believe somewhere in the 40's, though I'm not as certain of the latter number. Take that for reference.

Keep in mind the “center line” is a straight line connecting 2 dots in 12 hour intervals so its not a true fit to the path

You cant go by the center line from cone to cone really.

o make things worse. Fradella just doubled down saying the track is too far west still. The Graf is calling for 15-20 inches in New Orleans and the HRRR is calling for 90 mph gust. He’s cherry picking models instead of just going with the NHC and the local NWS. Dude is the ultimate clown.

I'm not a Fradella fan, and he should no doubt defer to the NHC, but in his slight defense - nearly every short term model is west of NHC and through LaPlace, at least, if not further west. Alot of local weather graphics are build on those short term models, so they don't exactly have something they can go on TV with that shows the NHC is correct.

Doesn't necessarily excuse him saying that the NHC is wrong though.

There were downed trees and snapped power poles all over between the antique district and the Amite River in DS after Ida came through.

Maybe later in the forecast but I don't see that at landfall.

I was referring to later in the forecast around the BR area. It shifted west.

The closest webcam I can find is LUMCON down in Cocodrie. LINK

Looks like tide is heading out, with the next high tide around 6:00 am tomorrow. Water is already over the main road.

Francine looks like she's going to fizzle out shortly after making landfall...as far out as she was in the Gulf and max winds only at 90MPH....

Is anyone boarding up their windows in BR? Got a north facing bedroom window and not sure if I should board it or not. What says the OT? I’m just west of the track.
