Yep, past couple runs have shaved a few mbs off landfall. Still likely capped on ultimate strength, but not great.

This one seems like the classic, get the Houston media in a tizzy only to hit lake Charles

Sadly the only thing left is plant industry and the old people that refuse to leave their home.

Are you worried about a tropical depression?

Remember years ago after Rita how in 2007 Humberto formed quickly in the gulf and made landfall around Beaumont? The wind wasn't bad but the flooding in some areas sucked.

Essentially, yes. Verbatim, shows Cat 2 on this run, but will be sheared out on approach.

Yea let Lafayette have a turn. They're the only I10 city that hasn't had a hit within 30'ish miles.

Wish I could downvote this more than once.

Frick "wishing" a hurricane on anyone in LA at this point. Say good bye to any semblance of reasonable homeowner's insurance at that point...

Well, we all would prefer it to just disappear but at this point, it looks like LA is getting it so it might as well not be Lake Charles in my biased opinion

If it hit Cameron it's extremely low population. Not many people live in that area. You don't really want it on anyone but wouldn't that be one of the better places it could hit? (unless you live there or have relatives of course)

Based on models with absolutely no defined system to work with?

TX could get it or it could be a nothingburger or it could go even farther east

When I said "at this point" which you quoted in your response that means with the data we have as of now. The runs at this point show it coming to LA.

I live 26 miles due north of the coast. It would come right at my house. No thanks

I would be more concerned with the 12z Canadian.
