What do y’all think about Fortnite getting sued for the dances they used in the game?

I'm happy. Tired of hearing about this game.

I saw this a few weeks ago. A few rappers and other musicians are suing for the game using "their" dances, in case anyone was wondering.

It's a bunch of dumbasses filing dumbass lawsuits.

Scruffy hates how insane copyright/patent laws have become.

He hopes all of the plaintiffs lose and are banned from ever dancing again.

In some cases they took the dances frame for frame off the original person. I think that changes it. Otherwise I would agree.

It is pretty sad for someone to sue a video game that is keeping them relevant.

Anyone know the actual law?

Do Carlton from Fresh Prince and the backpack kid have any legal copyright or trademark...whatever it's called...to those dances?

Plus, we know Carlton admitted to stealing the dance, and there's a 2012 YouTube video of someone doing the backpack dance, so neither dance "belong" to those 2 dudes to begin with, what legal right do they even have to it?

Dance moves themselves cannot be trademarked but the name of the dance move can be. Epic's billion dollar lawyers will win.

The argument is that the Carlton dance in fortnight is literally footage of Alfonso Ribero with a skin.
