A former Parkview Baptist student pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile in a December 2015 incident in which he had sex with a 16-year-old girl in a New Orleans hotel, according to a press release from the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office.
Pryce Fletcher, 20, was convicted of the misdemeanor for engaging in sexual intercourse Nov. 16 with the girl while they were visiting New Orleans to see the state championship football games, the release said. Fletcher was 18 at the time of the incident.
Fletcher approached the victim on Bourbon Street after she had consumed alcoholic beverages. The victim said when she woke up, she was in a hotel room with Fletcher, the release says.

The conviction was the result of a plea deal that lessened the charge against Fletcher from indecent behavior with a juvenile to carnal knowledge of a juvenile, said Orleans District Attorney Office spokesman Ken Daley.
Fletcher, of 3325 Grassy Lake Drive, was first arrested on a count of third-degree rape in April 2016 after the girl accused him of raping her the night of the state championship football games in the hotel.
About a month later, an Orleans Parish magistrate commissioner found insufficient evidence for that arrest. At that hearing, an acquaintance of the girl's testified that on the morning after the incident the victim had referred to herself as having had sex with Fletcher.

Fletcher's attorneys, Michael Ciaccio and Frank DeSalvo, said Fletcher "reluctantly pleaded guilty" to the misdemeanor to be able to "move on with his life."
"At the time, he was an 18-year-old senior and she was a 16-year-old junior," Ciaccio and DeSalvo wrote in a statement. "Her own friends testified under oath that she told them she had consensual sex with Pryce Fletcher and that she was worried that her boyfriend would find out she cheated."

Besides him taking advantage of this chick I think it's stupid that these types of relations come back on the guy and ruin their lives forever

So she had consensual sex but he was charged. I don't get it.
I thought if the age difference was two years it was OK.

18 years old at the time? Louisiana needs some Romeo and Juliet type laws to prevent kids being kids from ruining one of the kid's life.

He should take this to trial. He would walk if I was a juror.

In texas if age is within two years it’s not a crime. Sucks for this dude. That’s ridiculous.

I thought there was a "Romeo and Juliet clause" that basically said there has to be more than three or four years difference in age for it to be a crime. Even though the age of consent is say 16 or 17, it is not technically illegal for two 15 year olds to have sex.
So I don't understand why he plead guilty to anything.

There needs to be a 2 or 3 year rule for stuff like that.
No way his life should be ruined for that.
