You can say a lot of things about China, but they aren’t stupid. Xi would have put layers upon layers of protection to shield China from being on the hook. Not to mention, assassinating a former PM doesn’t accomplish much. Seems more like a lunatic. The guy didn’t even try to run after he shot him.

If it is a Chinese national, Xi better allow the Japanese to do whatever the frick they want to him. I’d be surprised too if Xi ordained this despite how much he hated Abe, but can’t put it past him if he now sees this as the prime time for a new world order.

He is the former Prime Minister, but it is important to note that he is still an elected member of their House of Representatives

Again, for Japan, this as if Winston Churchill was assassinated in 1946 after leaving office. It’s difficult to understate how big of deal this is and we need to know who his assassin was and what was his motivation. This very well may be the biggest assassination of our lifetime assuming the rumors that he’s dead are true. The doctors have to be hesitant thinking of Francis Ferdinand and JFK. This is the Japanese person’s JFK assassination.

Pretty typical OT thread. Every post is either a deranged conspiracy theorist or a gun nut. Abe will sadly be about one of ten people in Japan this year who will die this year from a gunshot wound. In the US we are lucky if we can go an hour without 10 people getting shot

So you’re saying you can tell the difference between a Japanese person and a Korean person?

It's hard to believe someone with a gun was able to get that close to him. I guess they don't have the same level of security for former prime ministers in Japan that we have for former presidents in the USA.
