Not a huge fan. If you’re going to buy an American made small SUV, I’d go with the Cadillac XT5 or that new Lincoln Aviator that’s coming out.
I agree. Cadillac and Lincoln are finally starting to push more crossovers now. That's where the market is headed for better or worse.
IMO the new Cadillac XT6 and Lincoln Aviator look so much better than the current best seller, the Lexus RX350.

Overstyled Lexus RX350:
I love that Cadillac is going back to horizontal headlights even though it softens the styling a bit:

Wow, they changed the front end a little. The rest looks the same.
I like the current style better
I agree, but I appreciate that Ford is bringing back a rear drive chassis. That gives them a much higher ceiling for performance models in the future.

Does it have an off road version? And not awd but to compete with the grand cherokee trailhawk or 4runner trd?

It's extremely unlikely that Ford would offer an off road oriented Explorer.
They'd rather those buyers pay extra for the new Bronco I'm sure.

honestly think it's a step back in the styling department,

The high "iPad dash" is really a Mercedes thing. The reasoning is it decreases eye movement to interact with it and reduces the thickness so as not to interfere with the line of sight outside of the vehicle. Mercedes buyers often complain about it as well.

It was. Their newer products integrate the infotainment into the dash (S-Class, E-Class, etc.).

Hate that fricking iPad like that

Is that an iPad?
Open Source infotainment is an interesting concept. It would give owners of older cars the opportunity to upgrade regularly.
It looks horrible though.

It will be very popular so long as the iPad thing doesn't scare away too many 40-50 year old women.

All look the same basically!

They started a new tradition. The breaking of the plastic windshield guards.
That must be a newer problem than what I experienced.

I like that gas cap being moved to the driver side.
Posted on 1/13/19 at 6:19 pm to Gold Tiger
1) where was the gas cap
2) is the screen really that big? Looks like an ipad and I think would be distracting for me personally. Goes above the dash and would mess with my peripheral vision.

Almost all SUVs look like mini vans to me now except the boxy ones - Tahoe, Wrangler etc.
Agree. I still drive one, but I wish they weren’t all shaped like minivans.

Let's hope they improved their seats for the driver and front passenger. They were the worst ever. I had three for company vehicles and those seats were shitty AF.
